2017 Portrait Series - When Location Plans Change

Last week I went out for a shoot with Cara. We had a plan ready to go: a brightly lit dance studio, awesome dance outfits, and some acrylic paint. However, when we arrived at the location we discovered and impromptu daycare recess was taking place!

We could have canceled the shoot and tried again later, but perfectly synced schedule times can be few and far between so we switched to a wildly different location on the fly: some rolling hills near some large power lines.

Sometimes plans don't go as well as, well, planned. It's always important to have some backup ideas just in case.  You can keep an instant backdrop folded up in your car, or have some go-to locations that are always open.

Despite the setback of no space in the dance studio, our outdoor backup ended up working just as well and we were very pleased with the results. Check out the rest of the photoshoot below!
